How to start programming Intel Media SDK?

Greetings, I'm new to this software. I have downloaded and installed the SDK, but I'm still confused where could I open the software. I've also downloaded some samples, but I'm not sure how to test or run them as I don't know what applications do I need to open with.

It will be very grateful if there're any helpful guides for a beginner.
