Installed the Intel Media Server Studio Professional Edition 2016 (Evaluation)
Processor Details: Intel® Pentium® Processor N3710
OS: Ubuntu 16.04.1 LTS
Followed all the steps given in the document - "getting_started" guide - except the steps relating to
kernel patching (to get to to kernel 3.14.5) since we are already on kernel 4.4
However running sample_encode on a raw nv12 video for h264 encoding (1280x720)
gives the following error
Command: sudo ./sample_encode h264 -i test.nv12 -o output.h264 -w 1280 -h 720 -nv12
Return on error: error code -3. /home/lab_msdk/buildAgentDir/buildAgent_MediaSDK1/git/mdp_msdk-samples/samples/sample_encode/src/pipeline_encode.cpp 1021
Return on error: error code 1, /home/lab_msdk/buildAgentDir/buildAgent_MediaSDK1/git/mdp_msdk-samples/samples/sample_encode/src/sample_encode.cpp 744
Frame number: 0

Hi Venky,
Media Server Studio doesn't support Pentium. You can find a list of supported hardware at the release notes.
Best wishes,
Anna

Anna,
Thanks for that quick response.
Just to let you know that we successfully tested Media SDK on Windows 10 on the same platform. Is it that the Media Server Studio is not available on Linux on the same platform, while Media SDK (Windows 10) is available on the same platform?
We are trying to build an embedded device using Linux. Will Media SDK be available on any embedded chipset running Linux? Or is it that Media SDK on Linux is available only for a Server use case?

Venky,
Media SDK and Media Server Studio are different products with different system requirements. You're right, MSS for Linux doesn't support Celeron,
Best wishes,
Anna
