query regarding Intel media sdk supports on linux

Hi,

I have installed intel media sdk on Linux,it uses hardware acceleration for Decode/Encode on Linux.

Is it possible to perform Decoding/Encoding without using hardware acceleration(no video driver)? i mean can we use only Software library for decoding/encoding on Linux?

Intel does not currently offer a software library implementation of our "Media SDK for Linux Server" product.
