Hello Team,

I want to deploy bare metal hypervisor on the evaluation board it has Intel XEON D-1541 CPU.

Top of that hypervisor I want to install Windows server 2012 and Ubuntu as guest OS.

I got following list of bare metal hypervisor available in market.

1) VMware vSphere Essentials

2) Microsoft Hyper-V Server 2008 R2 SP1

3) Xen Hypervisor

4) Wind River Linux

5) LynxSecure Separation Kernel Hypervisor

6) PROXMOX VE

7) CITRIX XenServer Free Edition

8) VMware vSphere ESXi Hypervisor

9) Microsoft Windows Virtual PC

10) nuXis

11) RTS Real Time Hypervisor

12) Vembu VM Backup

13) Parallels Server Bare Metal

Can you suggest that which Hypervisor would be compatible with Intel XEON D-1541 CPU?

Thanks.

Hello KHTS,

The compatibility will depend on the requirements for each operating system, and the limitation that your motherboard can have. I checked some of the operating system you mentioned, and Xen Hypervisor, VMware vSphere Essentials seem compatible. Double check with your computer manufacturer for more supported operating systems.

Hi Amy,

As I said that I want to deploy bare metal hypervisor on the evaluation board it has Intel XEON D-1541 CPU.

Top of that hypervisor I want to install Windows server 2012 and Ubuntu as guest OS.

Xen Hypervisor and VMWare vsphere hypervisor requires two physical machines. One is for hosting hypervisor and other one is for running application or VMs.

I dont want to use two physical machines as I have single evaluation board.

Can you please suggest me the hypervisor using which I can install and run Guest OS on the same evaluation board?

Thanks.

/thread/110566 KHTS, as example, you may want to consider Microsoft Hyper-V; however, this will depend on your needs. My recommendation in this case is to double check your needs and your current hardware, basically this decision is up to you, your hardware and needs limitations.

Amy.
