Better LGA socket design

After dealing with my 3rd motherboard with damaged LGA pins.... (My hobby is computers and Internet).....THIS idea popped into my head: An LGA design that is more durable, rugged and is also backwards compatible with existing CPU's.

Instead of using pins like the current LGA design does, this would use an array of raised brass, copper or gold contacts separated by a polymer (usually plastic) insulator. The raised contacts go slightly higher than the poly insulating material. The CPU would sit flush with the socket and be pushed into contact with the LGA bumps.

I included a rough computer sketch so you know what I'm talking about.

I figured I should post this idea HERE. It would make for more rugged motherboards in the future.

However, please be aware that the Motherboard sockets are the ones that determine which is the type of processor that can be installed, and cannot be modified to make it compatible with other processors. 

If you want a different motherboard design, contact or provide this feedback to the Motherboard Manufacturers.
