Apparently my Intel BX8069510900X - LGA2066 X299 Series 165W is not compatible with my Z490 AORUS MASTER motherboard. Is this normal, when the two are compatible on paper? ...

They are not compatible according to gigabyte.  Already answered in your other thread.
