Can i7 2600K (sandy bridge) work with ECC RAM?

Hello.

As read on intel's i7 2600k spec page, it says it doesn't support ECC. What does this mean? It simply won't work with ECC RAM or it will ignore the ECC technology and treat them as normal?

First I need that question answered and then this: I will put the ECC ram on a non-ECC-supporting motherboard (don't ask why, consider I HAVE TO if I buy the CPU) and if the motherboard ignores the ECC technology and treats them as normal, will i7 2600k get along with it?

I would love an ASAP answer, thanks!

yeah, I'd like to know this too.

Anyone know?

If so, there are 8GB EEC RAM sticks and therefore you can put 32GB RAM into a P67 motherboard. If not, you're stuck with 16GB...
