Can the i5-9600k run underclocked/volted so it runs as a 9500 or a 9400?

Hello HMN,

Thank you for posting on the Intel ® communities.

I would like to mention that Intel does not provide support with Overclocking or Underclocking the processor, this is because this action sets the processor to work out of specifications, and will also affect the warranty of the unit, refer to the statement below:

" Altering clock frequency or voltage may damage or reduce the useful life of the processor and other system components, and may reduce system stability and performance. Product warranties may not apply if the processor is operated beyond its specifications. Check with the manufacturers of system and components for additional details. "

So, in other words, it is recommended to contact the motherboard manufacturer if you would like to proceed with the undervolting; however, keep in mind that it will most likely affect the warranty of the processor.

Regards,

David V
