Cannot restore Default Profile due to Undervoltage Protection

Hi,

I am trying to restore Default Profile of my 13600k.

I was trying to overclock the cache; to do so, you must set a 'Processor Cache Voltage' value that isn't default when Undervoltage Protection is enabled.

I then set Processor Cache Value to 1.225V, and set my Cache ratio to something like 4.8x.

After some testing (no crashes), I want to set back my Processor Cache Value to Default, and when I tried to Save, it gave me an error (attached).

Now I don't know how to set it back to default.

Edit: I restarted my PC which actually automatically reset my BIOS as well, then I was able to reset this setting. However, once it's changed again in XTU, it (Processor Cache Voltage) cannot be returned back to default!

Hi Platinum,

Following our investigation, we have identified that the behavior you are experiencing is due to a design limitation with version 7.14.

To resolve this issue, please follow these steps:

  1. Open the XTU settings.
  2. Navigate to Advanced Options.
  3. Uncheck "Restore tuning after reboot."
  4. Proceed to reboot your system.

After completing these steps, the Processor Cache Voltage should return to its default setting. If you plan to continue making changes in XTU that you wish to retain, please remember to go back and check "Restore tuning after reboot."

Hi Platinum,

I just want to set proper expectations that overclocking may void the warranty of the processor. Regarding the main issue, if you are unable to reset the default values of the Intel® Extreme Tuning Utility (Intel® XTU), we must follow the steps outlined in this article. The default settings of Intel® XTU are found on the board's BIOS therefore If a profile is set from the Intel® XTU with a specific value, follow the steps below:

  1. Back up any Intel® XTU profile before reinstalling the program to avoid losing settings.
  2. Reinstall Intel® XTU.
  3. Load BIOS default to apply the default settings in the motherboard/system.

I also provide an article for more information. Let me know if you need more details. I'm here to help.

Hi Randy, thanks for the reply.

I was able to restore the default values via BIOS but I think there is a software issue with XTU. That is you cannot reset the Processor Cache Value via the UI as described. This creates a poor user experience and the described scenario does not sound like a desired behaviour.

Hi Platinum,

Let me coordinate these findings internally and attempt to replicate the issue on my end. Could I please request the SSU log report to gain an overview of the system configuration for simulation purposes. In addition, may I know the version of the XTU you are using and have you tried to set it before without any issues?
