Hi!
I have a ROG strix 18 2024 with a i9-14900HX.
I have been experiencing Blue Screen Errors caused by the program Vanguard (the anti-cheat for playing Riot games).
The only way I found to stop these errors was by reducing the Performance Core Ratio from 52x to 50x, using XTU.
I have the "Restore tuning after reboot" option enabled. I tested it by restarting and turning off my computer, and saw that the Performance Core Ratio was still 50x. But sometimes, randomly, I turn it on and it goes back to 52x, so I get the blue screen error.
Is there any other configuration to make sure this doesn't happen? I need it to be always in 50x, since Vanguard needs to be a startup app.

Hello Susanafg,
Thank you for posting in Intel community Forum.
For me to further investigate this issue, please help provide the following details:
- Was it working fine before?
- Are you having the same issue if you set everything back to default?
- What is the brand and model of your system?
- Did you update the BIOS of your system to the latest version?
If you have questions, please let us know. Thank you.
Best regards,
Michael L.

Hi Michael,
Thank you for your reply.
The game was working fine before, and I didn't have the blue screen error. But it suddenly started to show me the blue screen. I restored the computer, deleting everything and reinstalling Windows 11. The blue screen came back after installing Vanguard for League of Legends, and the only way of stopping it is changing the Performance Core Ratio to 50x.
If the value goes to default, I get the blue screen error when Vanguard is running.
I have a ASUS ROG strix 18 2024 with a i9-14900HX.
I updated the Bios.
And I forgot to mention that I set the Core voltage Offset Configuration to enabled and the Core Voltage Offset to 0 (in the Bios configuration), just so that I could enable the "Restore tuning after reboot" in XTU.

Hello Susanafg,
Thank you for the update.
Please be advised that Intel don't recommend overclocking since it may void the warranty of the processor. Please refer to the link below:
How to Obtain Information About Overclocking Intel® Processors
If your system is having an issue in default settings, you may check the processor and contact your reseller or local Warranty to report the unit.
If you have questions, please let us know. Thank you.

Hi Mike,
I reviewed your post, my intel processor is i9-14900HX, which, accordingly to the link you shared, supports overclocking.
I'm not sure if making the performance core ratio lower is "overclocking", since I'm not increasing it.
So my question was related to fixing that value.
Do yo suggest trying to use the default performance core ratio and solve the problem with ASUS or Riot (league of legends is the game I'm not able to play)?

By "fixing" that value, I mean decreasing it from 52x to 50x and always maintain it, even after rebooting.

Hello Susanafg,
Thank you for the update.
To better understand this, can you please answer the following questions to help with my investigation:
Is this working fine before?
Is the core ratio the only settings you're changing and resetting?
Additionally, to gain a comprehensive understanding of your system, please use the System Support Utility (SSU). This tool will generate a text file compiling all your system information. You can follow the instructions at this link and send the text file here. Help Guide for the Intel® System Support Utility.

If machine BSOD's at x52 but works at x50, you could try (ab)using Windows Power Plan to set frequency limit to 5000Mhz on performance cores.
You will need to unlock all Power Plan settings, for which internet is full of easy guides, then from classic control panel you can set frequency limits.
Efficiency classes go from most efficient to least efficient, so on your chip second entry (Class 1) should be one for Performance cores.
(that's my "office work" power plan on 12700H)
First entry with no efficiency class (internally class 0) is for Efficiency cores, third is unused until Ultra Core lineup, where new Low Power Efficiency cores take over first slot on list (if present).

Hello Susanafg,
Thank you for the update and sending the SSU.
Let me also answer your question on your previous post. For Intel, altering the settings by overclocking or underclocking is not recommended.
However, since this is a laptop and everything is controlled by the BIOS of the laptop manufacturer. Let me check, have you tried to contact Asus?
They may also alter this processor, and they may provide the recommended power settings.
If you have questions, please let us know. Thank you.

Hi Mike!
Thanks for your reply.
I contacted ASUS, but they told me to talk to the Vanguard developers.
There are more apps that fail with the default 52x.
Do you recommend the solution posted by PTwr in this thread?
I also read a thread here, with a solution, and I wanted to check if the solution B mentioned is recommended for my processor or not:
1. In BIOS, select "OC", select "DigitALL Power", modify "CPU Loadline Calibration Control" and recommend starting from "Mode 7" at a lower value until the system is stable.
Thanks!

Hello Susanafg,
Thank you for the update.
You may try the suggestion of PTwr since this is just power settings inside the OS. What we don't recommend is overclocking and underclocking.
And also, since you were advised to contact the game developer, did you also try this? They may also provide some recommendations on the issue that you reported.
If you have questions, please let us know. Thank you.
Best regards,
Michael L.
