Hi, I recently purchased an open box 14700K from microcenter, and wanted to know if the warranty extends to it. When I read through the conditions of the warranty on intel's site, it sounded like it might not be. On the page for whether used processors are covered, it states they aren't, but when I checked the conditions for what open-box means for a microcenter product, it sounds like it wouldn't be considered really used, at least from a layman perspective. The return window for processors is 15 days. Open box items are tested and confirmed to be working, according to one of their pages.
If it's not covered, I might want to return it and get a new one, because while I think with the right steps I can get a good lifetime out of the processor, I'd rather be safe than sorry.
