Per the Technical Product Specification: The Intel Compute Stick has a microSecure Digital (SD) card reader that supports the Secure Digital eXtended Capacity (SDXC) format. Micro SD card 8 GB, 16 GB, 32 GB, 64 GB and 128 GB sizes are supported.
Technical definition: SDXC v3.0 with UHS-I support

but not all cards of this spec work, I've tried  SanDisk ultra 16GB and 128GB and neither was recognised.

I have Sandisk Ultra 64GB and Sandisk Extreme Plus 128GB cards and both are working just fine in my SC ICS.

What have you tried that *does* work? If the answer is none, then I suspect that you have a non-working reader or you're inserting it wrong (it is possible to push it in going alongside the reader instead of into it; make sure you feel the spring as you push it in).

Card/s were installed correctly, I’ve cleaned the contacts and updated the bios to version 47 and still no joy.  SD is enabled in the bios. I have only ever tried these cards so nothing that has worked. There’s a lot of items on the web about cards not reading on this model, and intel even say not all cards are compatible. I tried the extreme 64GB because legitreview did a test using it but that was in 2016, the one I used is probably an updated model.  Looks like the reader is broke and I’m out of options.
