Computer shuts itself off and restarts. This continues as a perpetual loop. Works fine in Safe Mode.

I have a 1156 i7 870 2.94 Ghz processor. Recently My computer has been shutting itself off and restarting. It continually does it unless i manually shut it down. I am able to start it in Safe mode and it works fine. I tried resetting my comp to a restore point but that did nothing. After being in safe mode i try restarting like normal and it doesnt help. Like always about 3 minutes after complete start up the comp shuts down and restarts. Thought it might be a temp problem so i turned off my comp for a full 24 hours then turned it on and it still did the same thing right off the bat. Im pretty sure this is a processor failure but im not sure.

The main difference between Safe Mode and normal mode is that Safe Mode does not load the Operating System drivers. Taking into consideration that a processor does not partially fail and that the system does actually work without the Operating System drivers, have you already tried reinstalling the Operating System?

I have not tried this. I have received a few "blue screens of death" from processor clocking issues various times in the past, as well as recently i will get blue screens saying that there was an in-correctable or unknown hardware issue.then restarted and continued with the perceptual shutdown restart sequence.

I have tried re-installing windows, but the installation froze at about the second to last step and the computer became completely unresponsive. I had no choice but restart the computer and now it get to a message saying that in order to continue installation procedures, i need to hit OK and restart. Which the computer does on its on, then when it restarts if goes to that same screen with the same message and does the same thing over and over again. Could be hard drive at this point.
