Core 2 Duo E6750 died - want to avoid 2nd time

After nearly 5 years without any issue and not overclocked, my CPU Core 2 Duo E6750 died.

I have found a used E7300 and my system works again but seems not stable and sometimes does not boot.

My mainboard is a MSI P35 Neo.

I am afraid that E7300 will die again and I want to avoid that.

What can I check/do?

MSI has the Cual Core Center program to monitor the voltages and temperatures, would it be a good idea to install it?

I would suggest making sure that the Intel® Core™ 2 Duo processor E7300 is fully supported by your motherboard, also install the latest BIOS version for your motherboard.

Test the processor on another motherboard to see if it causes the same behavior.
