Delayed availability for i7-5775C and i5-5675C ?

The i7-5775C and i5-5675C were supposed to be "available" on June 2nd per Intel's own press release. It's now June 15th and resellers say their orders from Intel are "past due" and Intel still has not provided even a ship date. Is Intel still having problems with the new 14nm process? Does anyone know when Intel will start shipping these processors (besides the engineering samples sent to reviewers)? Broadwell for the desktop is the most delayed Intel processor launch I can remember.

We appreciate your patience while the processors arrive to the points of sale during the following weeks.

If you are in the EU it is possible to deploy skinflint to look for suppliers and availability. It seems that there are a few that have stock of the 'plate' version of CPU - that is a version without the fan and heatsink. You then have the opportunity to get a fan and heat sink of your choice. The stock version of fan and heatsink is very low price from one supplier (Scan UK).

Hey, I'm also planning to use i7 5775C or i5 5675C for my new ITX build. Any update on availability?

bump.. also can you at least boot up the system with these CPU on current Z97 mobos or do you have to flash the BIOS first?

cos I'm guessing you'll have to get some new BIOS to support these CPU and that's gonna be hassle for people buying new PCs since mobo won't have the latest BIOS and you can only flash the BIOS with 22nm processor.

Same concern here. The few official comments from Intel about these processors state they're "making their way to shelved as we speak." [sic]

Yet, that was nearly two weeks ago.

In fact, the only socketed Broadwell processors I've seen "in the wild" are the "Intel Confidential" review samples (or maybe just ONE making the rounds?).

Really looking forward to starting a new build. Just waiting on the single most important component...

We have these processors reported as launched since Q2'15, now you need to wait until the Intel® distributors get inventory available for end users.

On the other hand in matter of the compatibility with the Z97 chipset, you need to check the Motherboard Manufacture specs BIOS version required.
