Difference between processors

Hi,

Could someone please tell me the difference between an Intel (R) Core (TM) 2CPU processor and an Intel Pentium processor.

I am using Dragon Naturally Speaking on the first processor and am running into problems and wondering if the processor is not fast enough.

I would greatly appreciate advice. Thanks!

The Intel Pentium processor are generally older and slower, and the Core2's are newer and faster.

The newer faster processor can handle work from dragon more easily.
