Does Celeron J3710 support more than 5 SATA ports with extra controller?

Hi,

I guess my question is rather simple, but I'm not familiar with those kind of integrated chipset CPU as the Celeron J3710.

On the ark website it says under I/O specification that the total number of supported SATA ports is 5.

Now if I was to extend the total number of ports by a PCI express card with its own SATA controller, could the system then support more than 5 SATA ports in total?

I'm not sure if I really understand this "total number of SATA ports" specification,....

Thanks in advance,

Max

The computer chipset can handle up to 5 SATA ports. If you get a PCI express card you will be using the SATA controller of the external card.

Then, to answer your question, the computer, in fact, will be using more than 5 SATA ports.
