Does processor Xeon Gold 6248 @2.5G support AVX512_VNNI instruction set?

I have a PC and processor is Xeon Gold 6248 @2.5G. I find it supports AVX512_VNNI instruction set according to the following information.

https://en.wikichip.org/wiki/intel/xeon_gold/6248

But when I test it with CPUID, it shows the processor cannot support AVX512_VNNI.

Does anyone have the exact information about it?

Thanks a lot!

CPUID is a great utility, but sometimes has an incomplete database, so you should not use that as a test.

In this document, you will see that the Gold 6200 series supports VNNI:

https://www.intel.com/content/dam/www/public/us/en/documents/product-briefs/2nd-gen-xeon-scalable-processors-brief.pdf

Just search for "vnni" on page 10.

Hello,

Thank you for your support!

I think my processor is supporting AVX512_VNNI according to specification provided by Al H, but when I write a code using VPDPWSSD, the program crash.

VPDPWSSD zmm0, zmm1, zmm2

Can you give me some advice for AVX512_VNNI instruction?

Thanks

Best regards,

Hello,

Thank you for the information provided.

Due to the fact you would like to know more details about the Vector Neural Network Instructions (AVX512 VNNI).

My best recommendation for you will be to visit our forums of software.intel.com (https://software.intel.com/en-us/forum).

As additional information, I found the following link related to this topic:

https://software.intel.com/en-us/articles/intel-advanced-vector-extensions-512-intel-avx-512-new-vector-neural-network-instruction

Please contact them and I am pretty sure that they will be more than happy to assist you with the most accurate information.

Have a wonderful day.
