Does the iGPU of 285K Support DP 1.2 Dual-Stream Output via Thunderbolt 4 for LG UltraFine 5K?

I am currently building the following setup:

  • Processor: UltraCore 9 Series 285K
  • Motherboard: ASUS Maximus Z890 Hero
  • Expansion Card: ASUS Thunderbolt 4 EX Card
  • GPU: RTX 4080 Super
  • Monitor Setup: Dual LG UltraFine 5K (2nd Generation, 27MD5KL)

Key Question:

The LG UltraFine 5K display requires a DP 1.2 dual-stream input via a single Thunderbolt connection, utilizing a tiled display method.

I need to confirm the following:
When the UltraFine 5K monitor is connected, can the iGPU of the 285K processor correctly recognize it?
Can the iGPU then split the display signal into a DP 1.2 dual-stream format and send it through the Thunderbolt 4 port on the motherboard, ensuring proper 5K@60Hz functionality?

This is my primary concern, as this signal processing capability is crucial for the monitor to display correctly.

Your expertise on whether this setup is officially supported would be greatly appreciated.

Looking forward to your response.

Hello Dongjoo,

Thank you for providing the necessary information as early as possible. I understand that you are currently using an Expansion Card. However, your main concern is to confirm if when the UltraFine 5k monitor is connected, would the iGPU of 285K processor correctly recognize the Monitor along if it can split the display signal into a DP 1.2 dual stream format then send it through the Thunderbolt 4.

To further investigate this, would it be possible for you to provide your System Support Utility Report?

To generate the SSU report, please refer to the article: How to get the Intel® System Support Utility Logs on Windows*.
