Hello,
I recently purchased a 6-core Intel i5-12400F 12th generation processor. Overall, the performance is great but my PC would often freeze/hang, and force me to manually power off with the power button.
This would only occur when idle or web browsing. After ruling out drivers, the OS (Windows 11), RAM, and GPU, I was able to consistently recreate the freeze by running a Prime95 stress test for ~5-10 minutes and stopping it. After a few more minutes the system would hang.
When I disable C-states in the Bios, my system no longer seems to freeze at least for the past few days (where it was consistently once or twice a day before). The system is only a few weeks old, so I believe it is a faulty processor. Is it possible to get this replaced? If so, what other information is needed from me?

It might be worth testing your CPU with the Intel Processor Diagnostic Tool that can be downloaded from here . This will stress test the CPU and give a PASS or FAIL result. As your CPU was bought recently and is only a few weeks old a claim should be made for a refund from the seller of this processor.
