I'm encountering a firmware update failure on my Intel® Desktop Board DH87RL. Below are the details:
Motherboard Model: Intel® Desktop Board DH87RL
Current BIOS Revision: RLH8710H.86A.0320.2013.0606.1802
Target BIOS Revision: RLH8710H.86A.0332.2018.1026.1448
The update process runs through most firmware blocks successfully, but fails while flashing the Intel® Management Engine firmware, displaying this error:
Flashing image for Intel(R) Management Engine firmware ... [failed]
Flash update failed!
Technical information: (0x800000000000000E, 1579)
Screenshot of the error is attached.
Flashing Method: Used the standard Intel BIOS update utility from a bootable USB.
Any guidance or recommendations on how to proceed would be appreciated. Is there a way to manually update the Management Engine firmware, or should I attempt a recovery procedure?
Thank you!

Recover your BIOS using BIOS Recovery by Secure Jumper Removed method
- Prepare USB stick fully formatted to FAT32 with Bios file RL0332.BIO. Format your USB with Quick Format option unchecked. Do not format your USB in MAC (OS) or Linux machine. Use Windows.
- Disconnect the power cable. The recovery process requires the chassis to be opened to move the onboard BIOS Configuration Jumper.
- Remove the yellow security jumper (see the User Manual, para. 2.3, page 53 ). Insert the USB with RL0332.BIO file.
- Reconnect the power adapter and power ON the computer. Wait 30 sec - 2min. The Recovery process will start automatically and will end after 2 -5 minutes.
- When bios recovery is completed, switch the power OFF, remove the power adapter and replace the Security Jumper (pins 1-2) .
- Power ON your computer and check.

After powering on the display remains black. I waited for over 10 minutes, but nothing happened there were no beeps, lights, or signs that the recovery process started. The USB is formatted correctly (FAT32, full format), and the .BIO file is placed in the root directory. The BIOS jumper was removed as per the instructions

When you power ON your computer, without USB with the BIOS file and the yellow jumper removed, can you see the Configuration Menu?

1. With the power cord connected, check that the Standby Power LED (for location see page 38 in User Manual) is lit.
2. After depressing on the Power Button, this LED should blink.
3. You may also reset the CMOS battery (check the voltage as well).
