Asus dark hero Z790
Corsair- i150 AIO 360mm
- Dominator titanium 7200 16g x2
- Link fans, 10 in total-3 on the rad
MSI Suprim 3080ti
So, with only XMP active to take advantage of the dram speed, I’m overheating and getting BSOD. After reading forums, this seems to be common with the sku. I tried several things in BIOS, and yes ran Memtest to confirm the memory is stable.
Just to be clear, I’m getting BSOD watching a video, gaming is risky, saving every chance I get knowing BSOD is coming
TLDR, the only thing that worked for me was, in BIOS, set everything to stock settings, and cpu performance cores set to 5900.
Can I return this chip and get 14900k? Probably get a performance boost at this point!!
Intel please let me know how to proceed

Used F5 to make sure all settings are at default.
Still BSOD, so I changed the Intel setting from “extreme to performance “.
It ran for about an hour, then BSOD, so I then set the performance cores to 5900MHz. This worked and was able to play games again, for a few days.
Now the chip will not even POST, clear CMOS, flash BIOS to 1302, nothing worked
Dropped in a 14900K and computer ran perfect, passed stress tests, and memory tests.
Installed 14900KS again, will not POST.
RMA please

Hi Flowersquisher,
I was monitoring the progress of your concern to see if the BIOS update containing Intel Default Settings will improve, if not fix the problems that you are experiencing; however, it seems based on your latest post, it did not, so like what you are requesting, the unit is due for RMA.
You have two options for the RMA:
1. I can send you an email asking for your contact and shipping details and other information needed for warranty, but I would need to create a ticket for you and after I gather all the details needed, I would need to forward your ticket to the warranty team that handles your region. Please be advised that if you proceed with this one our next communication will be done via email.
2. If you prefer real-time assistance over the phone, you can contact the Intel Customer Support. Please refer to Contact Intel for support and service for a list of contact numbers by country. You can provide the community link, so that they will know the checks that you have done and to expedite the process.
3. Lastly, you can create a support ticket online on our web ticketing system, https://supporttickets.intel.com/s/?language=en_US. Like on item number 2, just reference the link of your community thread for faster progress of your ticket.
Please let us know of your preferred option.
Best Regards,
