HP, IBM, and other "branded" Xeon processors: Are they the same as Intel?

I have noticed various retailers (including OEMs) selling Xeon processors with an OEM part number:

For example:

http://www.serversupply.com/products/part_search/request.asp?q=457935-B21 http://www.serversupply.com/products/part_search/request.asp?q=457935-B21

Part No. 457935-B21

Description:HP/COMPAQ - INTEL XEON E5430 QUAD-CORE 2.66GHZ 12MB L2 CACHE 1333MHZ FSB SOCKET LGA-771 80W 45NM PROCESSOR KIT FOR PROLIANT DL360 G5 SERVER (457935-B21). NEW BULK. IN STOCK.

Is this the same as an "Intel" Xeon E5430 (BX80574E5430P, BX80574E5430A, AT80574KJ067N, EU80574KJ067N)?

Or is there some sort of proprietary modification that limits this product to only HP/Compaq machines?

It is hard to tell with this listing. The "PROCESSOR KIT FOR PROLIANT DL360 G5 SERVER" could include something special like a unique fan or heatsink.

As far as the processor is concern, it should be the same. If you can get the s-spec number (SLBBQ), you can look it up at http://ark.intel.com/ProductCollection.aspx?series=33905 http://ark.intel.com/ProductCollection.aspx?series=33905

If the S-spec is the same , the processor is the same. Just the packaging may be different.

Also, warranty on an OEM processor may not be the same as the warranty on a Intel boxed version.
