How do I change my GHz?

I'm not really a computer guy nor do I understand anything going on. I need at LEAST 2.0 GHz and at the store it said this computer was 2.4 GHz but when I did a check up on it as well as going into the settings it said it was 1.8 GHz. I don't know if I can upgrade my GHz nor do I know how to. If someone could tell me how to go from 1.8 GHz to 2.4 I'd be forever grateful and a bajillion times less stressed.
