SM Bus Controller Not Recognised, can't run chipset utility?

Hi all

Firstly, these are my specifications

Acer E1-572

16gb 2x8gb ram

256gb SSD

Windows 10 pro

ea50hw motherboard

I purchased a used ssd with windows 10 installed, and once I installed the drive I did a complete windows reset.

Windows runs fine but device manager shows an exclamation mark against SM Bus Controller

Also one against high definition audio device but I uninstalled that one.

Regarding the SM Bus, I researched and found it is related to the chipset driver and most sources point to using intel chipset utility to fix the problem.

The problem is when I try to install said chipset driver I get error 'platform not supported'

I'm trying to install a Focusrite Scarlett 2i2 3rd gen and it isnt recognised by windows and I think the SM bus problem might be why.

Apologies if more details are required

Any advice?

Ensure that you’re downloading the correct version of the Intel chipset driver that matches your operating system and motherboard. Since you received a 'platform not supported' error, verify that the chipset driver is compatible with the EA50HW motherboard. It may be helpful to check the Acer website or the motherboard manufacturer's site for the correct drivers. If the Intel utility isn’t working, try downloading the chipset driver directly from Acer’s support page or the motherboard’s manufacturer. Ensure that Windows 10 is fully updated, as this can sometimes resolve driver issues.

After Windows is updated, go to Device Manager and attempt to update the drivers for both the SM Bus Controller and the Focusrite Scarlett 2i2. Right-click on each device with an exclamation mark and select "Update driver." Install the latest drivers for the Focusrite Scarlett 2i2 from the Focusrite website. Ensure you download the driver specific to your Scarlett model and Windows version.
