Thats weird since when i went to buy me a new ram they said second gen processors only hold up to 4gb ram per slot

This is probably only correct (partially) for the H61 chipset with four filled DIMM slots. But this is a limitation of the chipset, not the CPU.

So if my board is an ASUS H61M-K with TWO DIMM slots and the same chipset you said will it hold up 8gb of ram per slot?
