How to patch in linux microcode

Hello.

Just to clarify, the PC will be running windows 10 when I have finished trhe PC, so if this will only apply itself to the linux install it is no use.

I am building a PC for a family friend. It is a low power system (Q6600 and a r9 270)

When I boot up the PC, it says it is missing microcode. The System still boots, but I figure it is best to update the microcode, as I had a lot of issues with the last system where I didn't do this due to the lack of microcode.

When I go to the intel download page https://downloadcenter.intel.com/product/29765/Intel-Core-2-Quad-Processor-Q6600-8M-Cache-2-40-GHz-1066-MHz-FSB- https://downloadcenter.intel.com/product/29765/Intel-Core-2-Quad-Processor-Q6600-8M-Cache-2-40-GHz-1066-MHz-FSB- , I only seem to be able to find Linux microcode, not the microcode files themselves.

How do I patch these into the BIOS?

Thanks in advance

Hello pyr0,

Please bear in mind that your processor does not support Windows® 10, even though you are using a graphics card your processor will not support this operating system. This a legacy product, and the microcode in the operating system will not match with the architecture of this unit.

Amy.
