I'm Autistic and I Can't Work Because of Intel

Hello everyone,

I never imagined I’d have to go public like this — but I’ve been left with no other choice.

I’m an autistic adult, medically diagnosed, and I rely on my computer to work, study, and live independently. I purchased an Intel processor that was later confirmed to be part of a known defective generation(14º gen). After opening a support ticket with Intel Brazil to request a refund, I’ve been left without a functioning computer for over four months.

In that time, I’ve lost work opportunities, fallen behind in my studies, and suffered severe emotional distress. This situation hasn’t just disrupted my productivity — it has deeply impacted my mental health and stability, which, as an autistic person, I work hard every day to protect.

Despite submitting detailed explanations, proof of purchase, and a personal letter explaining the full impact, Intel has refused to reimburse the full amount I lost — which includes both the CPU and the motherboard I had to buy specifically to use with it. That motherboard is now completely useless, and Intel (after 4 months) is offering to refund only the CPU, ignoring the rest of the damage they caused.

I would’ve accepted a full refund for both the CPU and the motherboard just to get my computer working again — even though my real loss goes beyond that. But Intel still refused. They had the chance to do the bare minimum — and chose not to.

I’ve made every effort to resolve this respectfully through official channels. The responses I’ve received have been evasive, dismissive, and, honestly, dehumanizing.

So now I’m turning to the public.

Please help me share this, so Intel — and its sponsors, partners, and those who stand for inclusion — hear our voice.

A company as powerful as Intel must be held accountable, especially when the person they’re harming is someone with a disability, just trying to live with dignity and independence.

I’ll be sharing this across:

  • Tech forums and communities

  • Consumer complaint platforms in Brazil and abroad

  • Intel’s sponsors and social impact partners

  • Organizations that support autism awareness and inclusion

I’m also setting up a website and social media accounts to share all communication with Intel Brazil support, ticket numbers, and relevant documentation of everything I’ve endured.

Thank you for reading.
Please help me amplify this — I deserve to be heard.

Hello Frnnd,

Thank you for sharing your experience with us. I sincerely regret the difficulties you've encountered with your Intel processor and the significant impact it has had on your daily life. It's very concerning that you've been without a functional computer for such an extended period, especially given its importance for your work, studies, and independence.

I appreciate your efforts to address this issue through official channels and understand why you felt the need to make it public. However, upon reviewing your other cases, I see that one of our team members is already in direct communication with you. To prevent any confusion, I will be closing this inquiry for now. If you need further assistance, please feel free to submit a new question, as this thread will no longer be actively monitored.

Thank you for your understanding.

Best regards,

Norman S.
