Hi team,

Last summer I purchased a I9-14900KF for my new pc amd at start it was running ok, however as we all know it become unstable, game crashes etc.
I tried to search the forum for a solution but did find it for my motherboard. I'm using MSI z790 gaming plus wifi.
After Stalker 2 release, I've updated the BIOS version, changed the P/E-core rate to 55 on all cores but still get an error.
GPU- RTX 4080 super

memory - 32g crusial ddr5-5600

Can I get instructions on how to stabilise the processor on MSI motherboard?

Hi, Mks_Khl.

Thank you for posting in our Community and providing detailed information about your setup. What specific error messages or codes are you seeing when the system becomes unstable? Were there any recent hardware or software changes made before the issue occurred? Do you notice any visible damage on the processor?

Have a nice day!

Hello,

Thanks for the reply.

As for the error codes: half of the errors are GPU crashes but I doub't that's the case since I have 16 gigs of that, and lowering graphics to minimum doesn't solve the issue, the other half occur when the game is compilating shaders. Drivers are up to date (GPU, BIOS, etc.)

No changes to the hardware, however at the end of November I switched back to Windows 10 from Windows 11.

Can I get instructions on how to stabilise the processor on MSI motherboard?

Hello, Mks_Khl.

It's good that you've already updated your drivers and BIOS. Since lowering the graphics settings didn't help, the issue might not be related to the GPU's memory. Shader compilation errors can sometimes be caused by software conflicts or corrupted game files. Reverting to Windows 10 from Windows 11 could potentially cause some compatibility issues.

In the meantime, I’ve noted your question and will get back to you as soon as possible.

Hello Von M.

Thank you, but you are ignoring my last question in my replies:

"Can I get instructions on how to stabilise the processor on MSI motherboard?"

Or there are no such guides for MSI motherboards?

Hello, Mks_Khl.

Apologies for missing your question earlier. To stabilize the processor on an MSI motherboard, there are a few general steps you can follow:

  1. Make sure your motherboard's BIOS is updated, as newer versions generally improve stability, enhance processor compatibility, and include Intel's BIOS and microcode update 0x12B, which has been provided to OEM/ODM customers. From the SSU logs you shared, it appears that your BIOS is already up to date.
  2. Intel has addressed the Vmin Shift Instability issue with the 13th and 14th Gen Desktop processors through the full mitigation of Intel Default Settings and the 0x12B Microcode Update. As the next step, I strongly recommend setting your Intel Default Settings.

If you'd like to verify the functionality of the processor, I recommend running the Intel Processor Diagnostic Tool (IPDT), which can help identify any hardware-related issues. The diagnostic tool checks for brand identification, verifies the processor operating frequency, tests specific processor features, and performs a stress test on the processor

Additionally, If the issue persists after completing the steps, I can offer a warranty replacement. However, please note that further isolation of the issue may be necessary if the problem continues. Also, please note that overclocking and/or disabling the current and power limiting features of Intel’s processors may void Intel’s warranty

Hello Von M.

Brilliant, thank you for the info.

I apologize, if I was harsh.

At the moment, there are no additional guides for BIOS setting? And can we hope that this will be fixed this year?

Hello, Mks_Khl.

No worries at all, I completely understand. I appreciate your patience and we’re here to help. Regarding your question about additional BIOS guides, I recommend reaching out to your motherboard manufacturer for further support to see the latest and additional BIOS updates. As for the fix, I don’t have a confirmed timeline yet, but we are actively working on it and hope to have it addressed soon. You may visit this link:

Additionally, as mentioned earlier, if the issue persists after following the steps, I can arrange a warranty replacement. Please note that overclocking or disabling the current and power-limiting features of Intel’s processors could void the warranty. However, please be aware that further troubleshooting may be required if the problem continues.
