Hi All,

I’m having issues with my I9-14900K which i obtained middle of march this year. Im having a lot of BSOD errors that was usually during games but has now happened during idle and also while attempting to reinstall windows. Games Crashing due to insufficinet VRAM or games like rainbow 6 siege not starting at all(anticheat is failing to start from what I can tell). random apps like discord, firefox & ubsioft connect crashing/ not even starting.

Specs:

I9-14900K

ARCTIC LIQUID FREEZER 3

CORSAIR DDR5 64GB 4800MT/S

GIGABYTE Z790 ELITE WIFI 7

ZOTAC 4090

CORSAIR RM850 PSU

SASMUNG 970 EVO

Issues

- Games Crashing or not loading at all (Vram errors)

- BSOD blue screen errors quite regularly (Getting worse as time goes on)

- Browser tabs crashing rather constantly 50% of the time

-Blue Screen BSOD during windows install

 Attempted solutions

-Reinstalled affected programs / games – Failed

Reinstalled windows – failed

MEMtest86 all 64GB of ram – 0 Errors found

Modified bios PL1 – 125w , PL2 – 253w and Current limited to 307A – did not work

Underclocked CPU down to 5.2ghz – Also did not work

Help would be greatly appreciated as at this point my system is near useless for any task

I had that error in games.  Have you recently updated the BIOS? They have been releasing new microcode 0x125 to address the issue. I got mine to work by messing with the LCC ACLL DCLL settings.  If that doesn't work I would RMA the CPU.

I wouldn't be comfortable with that PSU.  I have a Corsair AX1200 and I pull about 920 Watts from the wall measured with a Kill-a-Watt on with a i9-14900K and an Gigabyte RTX 4090 with a OCCT power stress test.  It probably isn't the problem if you aren't overclocking.  ....but it is below the recommended Wattage by Corsair.
Zotac 4090 is 1000W minimum
