Hello,

Ive been having stability issues with my new 14600K processor.

Usually it happens while playing game, but once happened even after fresh booting computer and opening an internet browser. I should have updated bios to the latest by IT technician. What can I do to adress this issue? In the attachment is scan with Intel System Support Utility.

Thank you in advance.

Hi Michal7,

Thank you for reaching out to the Intel Community Forum. To assist us in investigating the issue, please provide the following details:

  • Is the system working properly before?
  • Is this system newly assembled?
  • Was it custom-built or purchased prebuilt?
  • What is the exact Issue (Crashing, BSOD, Others)?
  • Any recent changes made on the system before you encountered the issue?
  • Was the processor Overclocked?
  • Any other troubleshooting steps performed to attempt to resolve the issue?
  • Have you already tried swap testing using an identical or compatible motherboard or processor. If so, kindly share the exact model of the processor or motherboard used for testing.

Additionally, after reviewing the BIOS version on your motherboard, I noticed that there is an available update from the manufacturer. Could you please try updating your BIOS to the latest version and enable the "Intel Default Settings" on BIOS? Once you’ve completed the update, kindly let me know if the issue persists.

The reason for this update is that Intel recently released Microcode 0x12F, which helps improve system stability by addressing Vmin Shift issues in Intel 13th and 14th Gen processors.

You can download the latest BIOS version here:

MAG Z790 TOMAHAWK WIFI BIOS Version 7D91vHH

If you have any questions, please let us know. Thank you.

Hello,

Thank you for your answer. So far Im testing updated BIOS and will try it in the upcoming days and will come back with a report.

To answer your questions:

- this is newly assembled PC

- custom build, professionally assembled

- exact issue is as described - randomly shutting down PC, happens even without load - in idle while using internet browser

- processor wasnt / isnt overclocked

- as for troubleshooting I just updated BIOS as you suggested, set intel default settings. Turned off XMP profile.

- as for hardware troubleshooting - I is not in my power to do that.

I just upgraded my PC from i7-3770, was really satisfied with Intel, so I decided to continue with same brand and am really unhappy about state of 13. - 14. gen.

Hello,

just wanted to inform you that after BIOS update, system looks stable and since no error has occured. Still testing it under load, but can see the improvements! I am relieved that it fixed problem at least to some degree. If error occures, I will post another report. Thank you for your suggestions!
