Hi Djsxclsv,
Thank you for waiting for our update.
- After thoroughly investigation your concern, we have determined that the reason why XTU is not behaving as expected is because it requires Z chipset to take advantage of full OC capabilities. "B" chipset have limited Memory OC and thus XTU will not behave as expected.
We look forward to your feedback regarding our post.

Hi Djsxclsv,
Thank you for posting in Intel Communities.
Thanks for sharing the screenshot of the error. To determine what is causing this and provide you viable suggestions, please provide the following:
1. It would really help us if we can get more information about your system. Please download and run our Intel® System Support Utility from this page,. To run it, please press "Scan". After the scan is finished, click next and there will be a save button, giving you an option to save the logs to a text file, please do so and attach the file on your reply. You can refer to How to get the Intel® System Support Utility Logs on Windows* for instructions.
2. Was this software working for your before?
3. Are you using the latest version of the software?
Looking forward to your response.

Hi Djsxclsv,
Thank you for your response.
After checking the logs, I need to ask the following questions that could be causing the problem that you are getting:
1. Are you experiencing instability issues with your system?
2. I noticed that the BIOS version is already updated with the latest microcode. Prior to updating the BIOS are you facing instability issues?
3. In relation to item number 2, when you updated the BIOS did you load the defaults settings in BIOS?
4. Have you installed the latest Intel DTT and Chipset Drivers for your motherboard?
Looking forward to your response.

Hi Alfred,
Thank you for your follow-up. Here’s the updated information based on your questions:
System Instability: I am not currently experiencing any instability issues with the system.
BIOS Version and Instability: No, I was not facing instability issues prior to updating the BIOS.
BIOS Defaults: Yes, I did load the default settings after updating the BIOS.
Drivers: I have installed the latest Intel DTT and Chipset Drivers for my motherboard, and these updates were done alongside the BIOS update.
Please let me know if there are any additional diagnostics or steps I should consider. I appreciate your assistance in resolving this matter.
Best regards,

Hi Djsxclsv,
Thank you for quickly answering our questions.
I am about to forward your concern for further investigation; however, I would appreciate if you try the following first:
1. Please try to run the Intel Xtreme Tuning Utility in Administrator mode. Right click on the icon in your desktop, then select run as administrator.
2. There could be a program blocking our software from getting the values from your board. Do you have any software from your board manufacturer that could also modify the performance of your system?
Do you have anti-virus software installed on the system?
If you both do, kindly close the following software or for the anti-virus create an exception for the Intel XTU application, then check if the error message appears again.
Looking forward to your update.

Hi Alfred S,
Thank you for your response.
I've tried running Intel Xtreme Tuning Utility in Administrator mode, but the error persists. I also ensure that Intel optimization settings are managed, so no additional software should be interfering with performance.
Additionally, I don't have any anti-virus software installed, so that shouldn't be causing the issue.
Given that these steps haven’t resolved the problem, I’d appreciate it if you could proceed with further investigation.
Thank you for your assistance.

Hi Alfred,
Thank you for the update.
Just to clarify, does this mean that I can’t use XTU at all with my current "B" chipset, or are there options for lower clock speeds and memory overclocking that I can still explore? Any guidance on what I can do would be appreciated.
Looking forward to your response.

I remember of using Intel XTU in the past with my MSI B760M Gaming Plus, but lately I am not able at all.
I remember of using AI assist and making some tests and benchmarks, but now it stopped working.
I have never changed my MB is this information new?
Best regards

Hi Djsxclsv,
You have great follow-up questions.
First regarding lower clock speeds or I think you are referring to underclocking.
In response to concerns regarding undervolting, it's important to note that undervolt protection is currently active within XTU as a precautionary measure following the Plundervolt issue. This issue previously allowed users to undervolt their processors to levels that could compromise system security. As a result, undervolt protection was introduced to safeguard the CPU's integrity. Due to this protection, undervolting capabilities are constrained by the BIOS voltage limits, which may vary between motherboards and users. Consequently, undervolting via XTU may not be possible unless BIOS values have been adjusted to permit it.
Intel's stance is to refrain from recommending undervolting. Should users wish to undervolt in real-time, they would need to disable Undervolt Protection in the BIOS, which could potentially expose them to Plundervolt attacks. From a legal perspective, we cannot endorse such actions. This is the primary reason for the limited information available on undervolting. Nonetheless, users retain the option to undervolt through the BIOS settings, even with the protection enabled.
Lastly, since you are using a B chipset, the options available for you in XTU to overclock the memory is very limited and may not behave as expected, so we recommend that you reach out to your board manufacturer, to ask them about the options for you to overclock the memory from within BIOS. You may refer to this page for more information regarding overclocking the memory and the processor.
I hope that I have answered your questions. Please let me know if you have any other queries.
