Intel Turbo boost not on my computer after Windows 8 upgrade

Hello. I recently upgraded to windows 8 and it seems that I do not have the Intel turbo boost on my computer anymore. Is it a problem with windows 8 or is this supposed to happen. (I searched through my bios for a processor boost, but no option showed up, neither did anything about the turbo boost. I did not touch anything else otherwise.) I feel that my computer runs games and other processes slower now and I would like some help. Thank you for any help.
