Hello, I am concerned about the temperature of the CPU (Intel Ultra 5 225F). I use the ENERMAX ETS-T41 CPU cooler, which I bought today. When running a PC stress test (OCCT power test with auto instruction set), the CPU temperature measured by HWinfo64 goes up to 82*C, after a few minutes of testing.
The rest of the PC is:
GPU: RTX4070 12GB DDR6
RAM: 2x 16GB DDR5
MB: Gigabyte B860 Eagle WIFI 6e
Storage: 2x PCI gen4 SSD's 512GB
Storage: 1xS-ata HDD
Cooling: 5 120 mm fans, 3 for intake at the front of the PC case and 2 for exhaust, one at top and the other at back of the PC case
PSU: 650W Super Flower Leadex 2 Gold
Case: DeepCool matrexx 55.
When I used the other CPU cooler, the ID-Cooling se-214-xt-d, the maximum temperature during stress test (the same stress test as the enermax cooler) was about 78 *C.
Please help, I don't know if the temperature of the CPU is normal or not ?

Hello mike_m1,
Thank you for reaching out and for providing detailed information about your system setup and temperature readings.
I understand your concern regarding the CPU temperature of your Intel® Ultra 5 225F, especially when it reaches around 82°C during a stress test using OCCT. Based on the information you’ve shared, the temperature you’re observing is still within the normal operating range under heavy load.
Please note that stress testing tools like OCCT apply an extreme workload that can push the processor close to its thermal limits, which is not representative of typical daily usage. Under such conditions, temperatures in the range of 80–85°C are considered acceptable, especially when using air cooling solutions.
To help optimize thermal performance, please consider the following:
- Ensure that the CPU cooler is securely mounted with proper contact to the CPU surface.
- Apply a thin, even layer of high-quality thermal paste between the cooler and CPU.
- Check that the case fans are properly oriented for optimal airflow (front intake, rear/top exhaust).
- Make sure the system is running the latest BIOS version and chipset drivers.
If you notice temperatures exceeding 90°C during normal workloads (not stress testing), please let us know so we can provide further assistance.
Additionally, please help answer the following questions so we can better assess the situation:
- What is the CPU temperature when the system is idle?
- Have you tried running the Intel® Processor Diagnostic Tool (IPDT) for a stress test? If yes, please share the results.
Once we have this information, we’ll proceed with the next steps to determine if further action is needed.

Hello mike_m1,
Thank you for the update and for providing the stress test results.
Based on the information you’ve shared, your CPU temperature readings are within the normal operating range. An idle temperature of 30–34°C and a maximum of 60°C under stress are both well within safe limits for the Intel® Ultra 5 225F processor.
These results indicate that your cooling solution is functioning properly and maintaining good thermal performance, so you can continue using your system without concern.
Additionally, please note that reaching around 90°C during stress testing is considered normal, as such tests are designed to push the CPU to its thermal limits.
