The XTU tool is directly related to the BIOS of the board, and maybe the microcode from the processor is not being detected by the BIOS properly.
A BIOS update to the latest version for the motherboard should be able to fix this problem.
What is the model of the board?
Did you try to un-install the XTU and re-install it again?

I am using the ASUS Z170 PRO GAMING motherboard and the latest version of the BIOS 1904.
It is the first time I use the program with this pc because it is new and I have tried to install and reinstall.
I use Windows 10 upgraded to the latest version

Install the new version and still did not work, I also tried the version that has asus, also tried to remove windows services, install and reinstall the application, nothing worked.
I read some forum that the application had problems with some applications so uninstall the speedfan, thought it would not work because the speedfan did not start in windows or services, but it worked.

I just received some updates in regard to the investigation we are doing on this case, and based on that information, we tested the NUC with speedfan tools removed, and the problem got fixed.
So, please try that, remove the speedfan tools and try the XTU once again, should work fine this time.
