Intel's recommended BIOS values for i7-12700K

Hi!

I have ASUS Prime Z690-A motherboard and it's newest BIOS version 3501. Intel have forced motherboard makers to add "Intel's Default Settings", but after shoosing that, they are not.

I cannot find on Intel's webpage values for:

ICCMAX

PL1

PL2

Yes, and after shoosing "Intel's Default" the value CEP is disabled; it should be enabled by Intel.

ICCMAX is amperes, both PL1 and PL2 are wats. Can someone who found Intel's specs link the webpage or just tell those right values. Better than 'unlimited' like 4096W..

The values of PL 1 and PL 2 appear on the Intel CPU Specifications as Processor Base Power and Maximum Turbo Power. See the graphic below which is an extract from the specs for the Core i7 12700K

These values should appear in the ASUS BIOS under Advanced->Ai Tweaker->Internal CPU Power Management. The Long Duration Package Power Limit is PL 1, the Short Duration Package Power Limit is PL 2. There should also be a number displayed in this section of the BIOS showing the maximum current, this should be less than 511.75 A.

Checked by HWiNFO and it shows ICCMax 240 A and both PL1 and PL2 was 190 W.

I will set PL1 to 125 W, but the 'less than 511.75 A' for ICCMax sounds too much, if Intel's recommended value for i9-14900K(S) is 400 A. I think I keep it what ASUS have planned: 240 A.

But I was very interesting what is the value what Intel itself have planned to i7-12700K CPU. That information is VERY hard to find on their webpage or Internet or by AI like Copilot (Edge AI). 'It depends what CPU you have' starts many answers. I think Intel knows exactly what this ICCMax value should be - regardless of motherboard manufacturers.
