Hi!

I have a board with a LGA1155 socket. Currently I have a i7-3770 and I'm looking around to see if there is any processor I can put there as a replacement. And how much power am I missing compared with a i5-4590

Hello JohanMalmsten,

It might be possible that all the Ivy Bridge processors (LGA1155) are supported on your system, but more accurate information could be possibly obtained from the official websites of your mainboard. http://ark.intel.com/products/80815/Intel-Core-i5-4590-Processor-6M-Cache-up-to-3_70-GHz Core i5-4590 is different from http://ark.intel.com/products/65719 Core i7-3770, sitting on different socket (LGA1150) and has a comparably higher TDP (84W vs 77W) , so not supported by your system. After replacing mainboard to support i5-4590, you might also use the same power supply.
