CORRECTION:

MTBF is changed to MTTF ("Mean Time to Failure").

About a day after my post here at Intel Communities my I-travels revealed that microprocessors haven't as yet reached the repairable stage. Thus for them there is no "between". When they fail they're merely chips off the old block.
