Mi procesador eleva la temperatura a 90 grados C: Intel i3 330M.

Hola gente!

Hello Nestor, have you been able to update the BIOS?

Did they system work prior to your attemt to update the BIOS?

Is the thermal solution working? fan is not blocked?

Tjunction is 90C for the PGA package and the processor would shut down for thermal protection shortly after reaching that temp.

Also is this a supported processor for this system?

What processor shipped with this Toshiba?

Hi there Tmsimmon!

The processor of this system, indeed, is the Intel i3 330m, sold with this processor and no other. I at one time wanted to change the processor to an i7, but it was very expensive.

About 5 months ago I replaced it because the previous motherboard was damaged video chipset similar problem, in fact, I am dedicated to this and replace the damaged laptop for work, I supposed to win a new notebook and good if I just should replace the Mobo.

A Mobo that I bought at $ 125 (item code V000198150).

Before I update the system worked smoothly until I wanted to upgrade my system to Windows 8 and MICROSOFT chat operator told me to see if my system was supported by Windows 8 should run a program should update checker but before the BIOS and video drivers. What if, due to the prevailing heat, the atmosphere was warm and on several occasions, in December, my system suddenly went out, so I decided to disassemble and clean the heat sink and fan. He was dirty and not so dirty, but I showed the photos.

After I chat with the operator MICROSOFT, I visited the Toshiba page and download the BIOS file according to my Notebook model (A505-S6005 PSAT6U).

As I had already heard the problems that can bring a bad BIOS upgrade, I would not do it from Windows and decided to create a bootable CD. I shut my system boot from the CD, I see that the upgrade process begins and a flashing sign saying that the system does not turn off. I saw on the screen something like writing block to block xxxxxx xxxxxx. Suddenly, without saying any announcement, the system was turned off completely.

I already something I feared.

I arrranco system again, and I see the Toshiba logo. I press F2, I access the BIOS, I see that I said earlier BIOS version 1.3 and now says 1.4, then the instructions said I had to press F9 and then F10, which I do.

Restart the system and finish loading before Windows 7, then off. Thus for 5 times or less. Then I disconnected all the cables, I pull the battery, I press the power button (to download the entire plate) and certainly it loose, and I re-connect the power cord.

Then he makes an attempt to turn, passes the BIOS logo and begin loading Windows 7, I hear the sound of the fan spinning very fast, then off suddenly. A few more tries and the system finally starts.

What I see is that the fan is a long time if I ran on and Movie Maker, to compile a video, the fan was going at full speed and then turned off the system.

Looking online solutions as achieve lower processor temperature reached a place that spoke to lower the percentage of processor power by a power plan, which now remains stable, although the problem of showing BSOD if I demand job processor. For example if I run Intel Processor Diagnostic Tool in power plan of 58% makes the whole process and reaches 84 degrees the processor, but if I do a 100% power is turned off even though the temperature does not reach 80 degrees, although can be in excess of 80 degrees and that the monitor you use, it is visible, the video has not updated since it was on video when the system was turned off.

I did not run the BIOS update in Windows because I have a fear that the system unusable forever and I can not recover the BIOS as if not wanting to start over.

I have the above motherboard, so you could replace the BIOS chip if necessary, but not if it's the solution.

really do not know if it will be the processor that is having problems or the BIOS update was not reached and that is why th...

Have you tried to run the latest chipset.inf from Toshiba?

Did you repartition your hard drive? does it have a recovery partition with your old OS on it?

Many of these OEM have a recovery utility to get your system back to like it was new.

have you tried that?

Hi there TMSimmon!

What is chipset.inf?

I download BIOS files from http://www.csd.toshiba.com/cgi-bin/tais/support/jsp/modelContent.jsp?ct=DL&os=&category=&moid=2515202&rpn=PSAT6U&modelFilter=&selCategory=2756709&selFamily=1073768663 http://www.csd.toshiba.com/cgi-bin/tais/support/jsp/modelContent.jsp?ct=DL&os=&category=&moid=2515202&rpn=PSAT6U&modelFilter=&selCategory=2756709&selFamily=1073768663#

I have my disk partitioned into two: in unotengo Windows 7 operating system and the other downloaded files and data in general, Outlook files, music, photos, etc..

I have no recovery utility because I receive this system, delete all previous backup and format the entire system into two parts.

The strange thing is that it is true that in Windows the temperature reaches 90 degrees, but in linux, with Ultimate Boot CD, if you get stressed the processor reaches 85 degrees, according UBCD. Just today got the latest version.

Just as I had been told that Windows often relates all data on the motherboard with the installation and when something is updated, as in this case, causes problems.

I see if I try to update the system. You need to do a clean update or reinstalling files step serves everything now.

And I have not tried reinstalling everything again.

Best regards.

Saludos.

Hi there!

Just I started my system with Ultimate Boot CD and try to stress the processor and will spent six seconds and the system was turned off. Windows not think it's because Linux runs in 4 seconds.

Best regards.

Hi there!

I already did it, but I did not attend because it is not under warranty (first the money and not the prestige).

In short I was told to take her to the nearest Toshiba in my country and I charged $ 20 to tell me the problem of my system. according to the operator, if my system booted and displays the correct version of the BIOS would be fine. But not.

Best regards.

Hi there!

I I've changed the motherboard and the problem continues, it is clear that the problem was not the motherboard and if the processor.

At this point I was wondering if due to a bad BIOS update could produce a processor fault that only happens to stress it.

I used the Intel Processor Diagnostic Tool to test the processor and the system shuts down after 3 minutes.

I'm really confused.

Best regards.
