Hi,

I have HP XW8400 system, two DC Xeon's 3.0Ghz. Systemboard (by HP documentation) supports QC Xeon 5300 series. Now question - i bought pair of Xeon QC, but - one is SLAEJ, other SLAC5, both E5345, same speed, same cache size.Difference - CPU ID and CORE STEPPING.

Here the links for each CPU -

Please advice - can i use this pair on my system.

Thank you.

The only thing I see is the core stepping is different. That may give you a problem , I always found it's best when you can use matched pairs of anything where are two. You would not put organic brake pads on one side of your car and use semi-metalic on the other side would you ??
