I just got a game called WWE 2k25, when I try to start it, it says I need a processor that supports avx2.
My CPU is an intel core i7-3960x and from what I looked up on the internet, it supports avx2 already.
I'm wondering then, what is the problem.

Your processor is approaching 14 years old (manufactured in Q4 2011), so yea, it's time.
If AVX2 is the driving requirement, you need to upgrade to at least a 4th gen Haswell processor before you will see support for AVX2 appear. More realistically, with the impending drop of support for Windows 10, you'll want to go up to at least an 8th gen Coffee Lake. Regardless of which you choose, we are talking about replacing the processor, motherboard and memory (going to at least DDR4 - or perhaps DDR5, if you upgrade all the way to the latest generation). It'll be costly.
Sorry, reality bites,
