OEM or Retail (Boxed) i7-840QM for Dell M6500 laptop ?

Hi,

I need to replace the CPU in my M6500 laptop and I was wondering if there are any physical differences between the OEM and Retail (boxed) versions of Core i7-840QM Mobile processor. Some of the images that I've seen of the i7-840QM display a metallic cover whereas my CPU doesn't have that because the heatsink sits on top of the CPU in M6500.

As I know there is no difference between oem and boxed, but i think, without metal cover cpu chip/crystal can be broken, especially when it OEM or Used. "New" OEM cpu can been used before it will go to the store, because it don't have any seal. Better to buy it in trusted store.
