Pentium 4 3,4GHz

Hi! I want to upgrade an old desktop PC. Is Intel Pentium 4 3,4GHz 1MB cache 800MHz (SL7PP/ SL7E6) Processor (socket 478) suitable for motherboard ASROCK P4V88? Thank you for the help

Also, read this regarding any processor upgrade attempts:

The upgrade processor must be socket, bios, and chipset compatible.

Hi Al,

Thank you for the rapid response. However, I had already read the CPU Support List page. What I do not understand is " SINCE BIOS All", as indicated in that web page. Theoretically, the Pentium 4 with 3,4GHz, 1MB cache, 800MHz should be recognized and accepted. Now I will try to follow the suggestions for the BIOS. Thank you again and kind regards.

piriponzolo: Yes, that is correct, if your processor is listed as compatible on link above and it says "SINCE BIOS All", in theory it means it should work with any BIOS version, however we still recommend to verify this information with AsRock directly:
