Problem expansion RAM

Hallo....I need a little help. I've tried to expand my notebook's RAM fro, 2gb to 4 gb, but it's possible only until 3gb. The notebook has a Dual Core T2370 and the SO is Ubuntu 14.04 64 bite. There is someone that can explain me why? Thanks

Festo, I suggest you to check if you may need a BIOS update on your system. Also, make sure the RAM you are using is totally compatible with your notebook.

I would recommend you to get in touch with the notebook manufacture in order to get additional information on this kind of issues.
