Resetting Emerald Lake FAB1 BIOS password

Hello,

I am looking for a procedure to reset the BIOS password on an Emerald Lake FAB1 motherboard.  I can't find documentation for this motherboard and I am trying to see if anyone has the procedure before I start pulling random jumpers.

Documentation with the jumper functionality would also be welcome.

Thanks.

Hello GR5,

Thank you for posting in Intel community Forum.

For us to further check, can you provide the complete brand and model of the motherboard?

If you have questions, please let us know. Thank you.

Thanks for replying.

I am not sure how to tell.  I have inherited this device.

I got Intel from

/sys/devices/virtual/dmi/id/board_vendor

I got Emerald Lake FAB1 from

/sys/devices/virtual/dmi/id/board_name

and Huron River Platform 0.1 from

/sys/devices/virtual/dmi/id/product_name

The Bios is Phoenix Technologies L5-574 version 1.1

I don't see any distinguishing markings on the board itself.

Is this enough info?

Hello GR5,

Thank you for the quick reply.

It is still hard to tell, that is why I am trying to ask more details. Did you get this motherboard from a pre-built system?

Can you provide any details about the system itself?

If you have questions, please let us know. Thank you.

Sure.  I'll give you more of the story.

It is part of a prebuilt system from Wurldtech, though obviously, an old one.  After a recent power outage, the SATA ports stopped working and I am trying to resurrect it.  I wanted get into the BIOS to see if the config got corrupted.  I got in touch with the vendor, but they have been non-responsive.

When I looked up Emerald Lake, it said it was a reference design.  I figured that meant they were using Intel dev boards (volumes on this thing were probably low), so I thought I would ask here.  I've attached a picture if that helps.

Thanks.

Hello GR5,

Thank you for the quick reply.

Even with the picture, it is still hard to identify the motherboard. By the way, what is the model of the processor installed?

If you have questions, please let us know. Thank you.

Hello GR5,

Thank you for the quick reply.

Intel boards have stickers with the model and serial number printed on it, however this board doesn't have it.

It is best to contact your reseller or the system builder to identify this board, they are the best team who can assist you moving forward.

If you have questions, please let us know. Thank you.
