To clarify your question, the statement you provided is correct. Tcase refers to the maximum safe temperature of the processor’s external surface, while Tjunction (TJmax) represents the maximum safe operating temperature for the internal cores. A CPU will not shut down when it reaches Tcase.
Instead, once TJmax is reached, the processor will begin to throttle to reduce heat, and if the temperature continues to rise, it will eventually shut down to prevent damage.
