Thermal Paste Inquiry (Laptop)

I have a i5-12450h in an acer nitro 5, and when under heavy load (Rendering On Blender), it gets up to 100c even with the fans at max blast. And I'm wondering if i should change\check the thermal paste. I am pretty sure that even under heavy load it shouldn't reach 100c.

(At the moment i change the power mode to best power efficiency so it stays cool)

(The picture i attached is from the NitroSense app when i put it to "Balanced" power mode and running blender in the background)

You are using laptop, since heatsink also powerfull like desktop cooler, moreover Laptop needs more ventilation to let out air.

Check laptop ventilation, check cooler needs cleaning,

In windows, check any application running background without your knowledge, delete possible tasks registered under scheduler task application,

In task manager, disable all startup application. Disbale overlocking in processor

Hi ILikeLaptops79,

Apologies for the delay in my response.

I would highly suggest checking for obstructions in the ventilation system of the laptop. Also, check for unwanted apps running in the background. Are you using the laptop in a well-ventilated area?

Also, have you ever tried contacting Acer for this? To help you with this, here's the link for reference:

Hello Dean R.

Thank you for your reply, I am sorry I could not respond as I have been busy. To answer your previous questions, yes it has good ventilation as I have it propped up. There is nothing running in the background, and yes I have tried contacting Acer but have not found a solution.

Hi ILikeLaptops79,

Rendering on Blender can be quite strenuous for laptops. As for your processor, 100°C is the maximum operating temperature allowed as reported by temperature sensors. Instantaneous temperature may exceed this value for short durations. Note: Maximum observable temperature is configurable by OEM and can be design specific.

Here's the link for reference of the specs:
