Thermal Throttling a I9 12900h

I have a ThinkPad x1 carbon gen 5 I have a 12900h and it thermal throttles like crazy and I'm currently trying to undervolt it, but the section to do so in intel's extreme utility is greyed out and I have tried turning off VBS in multiple times, but I am still unable to undervolt it. Is there something else I can try?

Hi Jauer,

Apologies for the delay in my response.

I would like to know the temperature of your laptop.

Just to add, Intel® Extreme Tuning Utility only works for Intel® Core™ processors that include the letters K, KF, HK, X, and XE in their processor number.

On the download page for Intel XTU, scroll down to the section This download is valid for the product(s) listed below. Check to see if the processor is supported:

Intel® Extreme Tuning Utility (Intel® XTU)

Here are some tips for this:

  1. Place the laptop in a well-ventilated area.
  2. Check for obstructions around the laptop's air vents.

Since this is an OEM (original equipment manufacturer) system, check OEM BIOS settings, as some OEMs are using their own tools to modify as such.
