Using ddr3 1600 on Core i7-640M laptop

hi all -

i'm currently looking to upgrade my laptop's memory and there is a deal on 2 4gb sticks of ddr3 1600 @ 1.35v that i'm thinking of getting. however, the spec for the 640m states that only 1066 is supported ? can i still use this ram ? the ram i'm looking at is here -- http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16820211568 Newegg.com - ADATA XPG Gaming Series 8GB &# 40;2 x 4GB&# 41; 204-Pin DDR3 SO-DIMM DDR3 1600 &# 40;PC3 12800&# 41; Laptop Memory Model AXDS1600GC4G9-2.
