W3530 (HP z400 workstation) and CMX8GX3M2A1333C9

Hello,

Not sure if I'm in the right place to ask this but I have the above memory laying around and a Z400 HP workstation with a xeon W3530 CPU.

Now the info on the CPU says that it supports ECC ram but the memory I mentioned is not ECC.

So my question is: will the workstation also work with the non ECC memory?

Hello Chall,

Based on the specifications of your memory the system may work, but it will be expected to receive random memory errors or inconsistencies, for this reason we would suggest you to use a memory that fully complies your processor specifications.

Also, you may want to get in contact with the system builder to check if this memory is listed as compatible.
